Corporate intelligence is a system of collecting, processing and analyzing information about the company’s internal and external environment in order to support management decision-making.

Goals and objectives:

  • information support for the process of preparation and management decision-making at both the strategic and tactical levels
  • early warning system – drawing the attention of decision-makers to threats that can harm the business
    identifying favorable opportunities for business
  • risk management in order to ensure the company’s response to changes in the business environment
  • detection of attempts to gain access to confidential company information

Methods:

Active (information and search work) is obtaining information by means of an intelligence survey, providing references, observation, using trusted assistants.

Passive (analytical work) – methods of collecting data from various available sources

Tools:

Public tools – search engines, public registries, databases, online digital archive and cached pages, social media accounts, personal and corporate websites and blogs, online publications, forums, office software products

Specialized products – may include one or more of the above search and analytical tools and use full-text documents, tables, databases and other sources to obtain information.

Integrated systems combine not only search tools, but also an integrated bank of discovered and logically correctly interconnected data, information and knowledge and ensure the fulfillment of a complex of intelligence tasks.
